For Health Professionals

A free resource for the people in your care

If you treat patients or clients who struggle with compulsive eating, Overeaters Anonymous can complement your work — at no cost, with meetings across Phoenix and online, every day of the week.
Why refer to OA

Support that continues between appointments

No cost, ever

OA has no dues or fees and accepts no outside funding. There is nothing for your patients to pay and nothing for you to bill.

Available anytime

In-person meetings across the Phoenix area plus phone and online meetings, seven days a week — including evenings and weekends.

Complements treatment

A Twelve-Step fellowship of peer support that works alongside — not instead of — the medical, psychological, and nutritional care you provide.

What OA is — and isn't

A quick reference so you know exactly what you’re recommending.

OA is

OA is not

OA does not provide medical, psychiatric, or nutritional treatment and takes no position on outside issues. Members are encouraged to continue working with the professionals who care for them.

How to refer

Three easy ways to connect your patients with us

1

Share the meeting list

Point patients to oaphoenix.org/meetings for the full in-person and virtual schedule.
2

Give them our info line

The intergroup line, (602) 234-1195, answers questions about meetings, formats, and what to expect.

3

Suggest they try six meetings

We encourage newcomers to attend six different meetings before deciding whether OA is right for them.

Point patients to our website

Direct anyone who’s curious to oaphoenix.org, where they can read what OA is about and find the full meeting list on their own time.

Questions about referring?

Our intergroup information line is happy to answer questions about meetings, formats, and what your patients can expect when they arrive.

Thank you for helping people find us.

Every referral is a hand extended to someone who still suffers. We’re grateful to partner with the professionals who care for our community.
